Who we are

Kern & Turn was co-founded by a Creative Director and a Producer who got tired of watching agencies treat people like line items. We're not an agency. We're a community of creatives working independently but never alone, designers, strategists, developers, and producers with roots in everything from branding to game development. Some of us are seasoned. Some are just getting started. All of us care about doing it right.

We make brands, websites, and campaigns. But what we really do is sit across the table from you and figure out what you actually need.

We’d rather do it right than do it fast.

Every project gets our full attention — not a junior account manager and a templated process. We work closely with you because that’s how good things get made. Not through decks and dashboards, but through conversation and trust.

We don’t pretend to have a proprietary framework or a magic formula. We listen, we think, we make things, and we’re honest when something isn’t working. That’s it. That’s the whole approach.

We hire designers right out of college. Not as interns. As real members of the team, doing real work on real projects. We teach them everything we know, and when they’re ready, we help them land their next job.

Most studios would call that a retention problem. We call it the whole point. We want every person who comes through this studio to carry something with them — a way of seeing, a standard of craft, a belief that good work should be rooted in truth, beauty, and goodness. If that sounds idealistic, good. The world could use more of it.
